Hmmm. I'm on the fence about the new Cracker Jack'D snack with added caffeine. Seems a little over-the-top, but as a graphic designer who used to pull all-nighters I confess that in college we lived off of Jolt Cola. Anyone remember that?

Ombré desserts
First it was graduated multi-tone ombré hair and now the trend has made it to desserts which is way more fulfilling—or maybe just plain old filling. These two examples in their blushing glory are making me crave some cake.

Vintage Cocktail Recipe Brochure
Here's another recent find at the local flea market. I love these old promotional recipe books the spirits industry used to put out. This one has great illustrations and each spread is cut shorter than the next so when it's open to the middle as pictured above you see every recipe in the booklet at a glance. I think I'll mix up a few classic drinks for the holiday. Manhattan's perhaps Mimi? You know who I'm talkin' to. ;-)
Vintage cookbooks
Score! I don't know if I've talked about how much I love to rummage through flea markets for vintage finds—I can spend hours combing through merchandise and imaginging the life each object had with its previous owner. I recently got this charming book titled "Festive Seafood Cookery" by Edna Beilenson with illustrations by Maggie Jarvis for $1. I'm in love with Maggie's work and can't wait to try out such dishes as "salmon souffle" and "pancakes stuffed with lobster has."
DIY dyed marshmallows
Check out the post over at You Are My Fave on these charming DIY dipped and dyed marshmallows. I'm thinking these would be a fun non-melty treat as summer temps start to soar.
