I really enjoy sewing, but time is a problem. I probably only sew once a year which is really, really sad. A couple of bag tutorials popped up on Pinterest that have me inspired to start stitching.

My friend Holly took me to a giant antiques and such show a few months back and we loved this clever reuse of some old books. Now generally I'm not a fan of defacing a book, but I could see around this if some pages were missing it the content was awful or sleep-inducing. Basically you just use a bandsaw to cut the shape of the alphabet letter you'd like to create.
Hand lettering is an art form and Glen Weisgerber is an expert. His video demonstrates some of his roundhand lettering techniques.
