I've been fascinated lately by the work of artists who specialize in book carving. Painstaking creations that deconstruct books one page at a time through precision cutting an carving.

The art of hand lettering is to be revered. Check out more examples of Matthew Tapia's work to be properly astonished.
I like the new print by Pam Garrison. She is a prolific artist and journaler.
I've finally gotten around to creating an account on Colour Lovers so I can organize and save the color palettes that inspire me. In addition to hues, there are tools for creating pattern as well and a fantastic community of artists and designers from every industry.

Have you seen the upcycled art created by Jane Perkins? She uses found objects to create intricate portraits and recreations of famous paintings. I can't imagine the patience it must take to work with so many random elements. via aunt peaches
I've been working on some new collage pieces and I've switched from the Matte ModPodge product to Acrylic Matte Gel Medium. I think it just comes down to personal preference with the materials. I don't have anything against the ModgePodge mind you, I just like the "feel" of the gel medium better. I'm also experimenting with laminate paneling in this new series of collages. We got a huge piece at Lowe's which my hubby cut into multiple boards so I can create again. Flight of Fancy and Curtain Call can be found in my Etsy shop should you feel the need to adopt them.
