A surprise preview copy of the new Gray cover Grids & Guides notebook recently arrived on my doorstep from Princeton Architectural Press. As a graphic designer, I love these notebooks because of the 8 different grid configurations they employ. It makes exploring pattern ideas a snap and sketching by hand leads to different solutions than starting a design on the computer.
The companion box of Grids & Guides pencils contains 12 pencils — 6 graphite and 6 blue as well as a ruler with multi-sized circles. Old school designers will feel nostalgic with the blue pencils bringing back memories of line cameras, t-squares and paste-up type. The pencils are available now and the notebook comes out in September.
