I really like the retro shape of lampshades that are making a comeback. Instead of tapering, the circle has straight sides. Rosenberry Rooms has two styles of ceiling pendants that I'm digging right now, the Thao Cabana Stripes and Luther Solid.
Cooking with what we have
We've been making a bigger effort lately to not waste food and be more creative with what we have instead of running to the store so frequently. This led to a tasty breakfast when I realized we were out of bread for scrambled eggs and toast. What we did have were several roma tomatoes about to be past their peak. This led to roasting them in the oven with a little olive oil and parmesan cheese and then topping with poached eggs.

Coasters
I love to collect random coasters whenever we hit a beer garden, but I'm thinking it might be nice to get a matched set as well. Here are three that caught my eye on Etsy:
1. Chicago map coasters by thepaintedlily
2. Reclaimed wood coasters by earthartbywendy
3. Owl letterpress coasters by LuckyBeePress
DIY valance
We finally got around to making valances for the bedroom. The hubby constructed the boxes out of foam insulation board. It's extremely lightweight so you can construct very large pieces that don't require massive hardware to hang. We just put two small L-shaped brackets and set the boxes on top.
We chose upholstery fabric as our covering and used Aleene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue to attach it to the foam board. For a little extra security I inserted some dressmaker pins at an angle on the interior fabric folds. We are pretty darned proud of our new window treatment.v
Make custom tile trivets
I really like gifts that are both beautiful and useful and tile trivets that can be personalized satisfy both criteria. Check out the monogram ones below or make your own from scratch using personal photos.
Bee House
I've heard of bird houses, but didn't know there were bee houses. Check out WudwerxUSA which has bee houses made to attract Mason Bees or Leafcutter bees which pollinate the plants in your yard.
