DIY Printable Halloween Invites

Are you thinking of throwing a Halloween party this year? Here are two cute DIY printable Halloween invitations perfect for the season of spooky. Each is a different take on candy corn as the main design element. Change the text in your favorite program: Adobe Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop. Then just print at home and trim or send to your favorite print shop. Boo baby boo!

Preview: Grids & Guides series

A surprise preview copy of the new Gray cover Grids & Guides notebook recently arrived on my doorstep from Princeton Architectural Press. As a graphic designer, I love these notebooks because of the 8 different grid configurations they employ. It makes exploring pattern ideas a snap and sketching by hand leads to different solutions than starting a design on the computer.

The companion box of Grids & Guides pencils contains 12 pencils — 6 graphite and 6 blue as well as a ruler with multi-sized circles. Old school designers will feel nostalgic with the blue pencils bringing back memories of line cameras, t-squares and paste-up type. The pencils are available now and the notebook comes out in September.

Airplane Birthday Party

The Airplane theme invitation printable is now available in the Charming Ink shop at Creative Market. This 5 x 7 design features a graphic biplane illustration towing a banner through the clouds. Customize the banner text and party info for your event, then print and trim your invitations. This template includes several file types: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and .eps. An instructions file provides links to the free fonts used in the design.

Angles Business Card Template

New "angles" business card template is now available in the Charming Ink Creative Market shop. Easily change the color palette or fonts in your favorite software program. Included are files for Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. A link to the free font used in the design is included in the instructions file. This minimalist design is flexible for almost any type of business — what companion piece would you like to see? Letterhead, labels or postcards perhaps?
