There's a lot of ruckus going on about the seasonal Holiday Coca-Cola cans that are on shelves this year. Now first let me say I agree with the backlash against "New Coke"—that was simply a disaster and if you have a wildly successful brand, you really don't need to change it for the sake of change. I think the funniest news item I saw was that some consumers were "confused" by the graphic. Maybe the "ruckus" was just a brilliantly staged marketing ploy to sell more soda. Still, speaking strictly design—I think the graphic is simple, elegant and striking.
