It’s been so exciting to design and make jewelry by hand again. Originally, Formica was my material of choice when there were tons of exciting colors to work with, but as neutrals became the rage, the choices grew ever more limited.
I’m now working with real and vegan leathers which have an endless rainbow of color choices and textures. Each piece is punched with a steel die and hammer and pieced together with plated silver and gold findings. The ear wires are hypoallergenic and ornaments are czech glass beads.
Left to right: gunmetal silver/sapphire bead full moon earrings; winter white/sapphire bead leaf earrings; crescent blush/topaz bead earrings.
